Dott. Mario Chiariello
He is the Group Leader of the Core Research Laboratory in Siena at the Istituto per lo Studio, la Prevenzione e la Rete Oncologica (ISPRO), a Tuscany health institution dedicated to prevention, research and assistance in the oncology field. He is also a Research Director at the National Research Council (CNR), the largest public research institution in Italy, and leads the Signal Trasduction Unit of the Institute of Clinical Physiology (IFC), located in Siena. Mario Chiariello has more than 25 years experience in the study of signaling in cell signaling in models for cancer as well as genetic diseases. His current research interests are focused on the study of autophagy and the consequences of its dis-regulation in human diseases. Dr, Chiariello obtained is M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at medical University of Napoli and next continued with his post-doctoral training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA.
